As I saw my skin turn blue, exactly as my father said, I slowly realized that my life was about to change forever. At first when Wonka said he hadn’t gotten the gum right, I merely assumed it hadn’t reached his standards for excellence or something... not that it would physically alter me. The other kids and parents stared at me with wide eyes, which only made me feel that much more uncomfortable.
